Personality
- Dinah is impulsive and rash at this point in her life. She's just disobeyed her mother and donned the old lady's costume... She's even gone so far as to take her old name. Dinah has little concern for what others think of her, and she wants to go out, have fun, and kick arse while doing it. She tends not to know where to stop when fighting, but is learning quickly.
- At the present time, Dinah is at odds with her mother. They're relationship was strained when her father died, and now that Dinah has disobeyed her mother... well... things are even worse. If the thought of her mother comes up, she becomes frustrated and angry. As of yet, it is still difficult for her to calm back down without having to vent her frustrations in some way.
- Dinah is still inexperience and immature. While she has grown up quickly, she still has a lot of growing up to do before she's really ready to be a proper vigilante. Granted, that didn't stop her from donning the mask anyway.
Abilities:
- Canary Cry -- A sonic scream capable of killing someone. Dinah still doesn't have total control over how intense this is, but she's getting there.
- The Canary Cry, on record, can reach 300 decibels. At this point in her career, Dinah can't quite reach that without losing control of where it's aimed. This is enough to make the ears bleed of anybody around who ISN'T the target. The target... Well. His head will explode.
- The Cry can be used to put people to sleep.
- Can be used to disrupt sound waves.
- Can stun anybody for a given length of time.
- Capable of doing damage to living and non-living structures.

Equipment:
A black Harley Davidson motorcycle, when necessary.
Weaknesses:
A black Harley Davidson motorcycle, when necessary.
Weaknesses:
- Dinah Laurel Lance is only human. She's not immortal, and she's not impervious to bullets. Those things hurt. Almost worse than her boots do. Almost.
- Her own lack of self-control. She does go too far sometimes.
Background:
- Dinah Laurel Lance was born to Officer Larry Lance and Dinay Drake Lance, the original Black Canary. Born as a metahuman, Dinah Laurel's Canary Cry was mostly uncontrollable while she was young, but she quickly learned how to keep herself from using it, and she was only about 14 by the time she figured out how to use various levels of it.
She was still, however, unable to control the intensity of it at all times. - Dinah Laurel's father recognized in his daughter the same sort of tendencies her mother had, and realized that either she would need to be taught some sort of proper fighting style, or she would get hurt. In preparation, he had her take a variety of martial arts classes, and she was taught by a menagerie of Dinah Drake's old partners and friends. The most notable of Dinah Laurel's tutors was Wildcat.
- Not only has she trained her body, but she's trained her vocal cords as well. Due to the necessity to have the girl control her Canary Cry, Larry and Dinah Drake had her take singing lessons, speech lessons, harmonica lessons. Anything that utilized the muscles in her threat and helped her to control that sonic scream.
- When Dinah Laurel's father died, her relationship with her mother became rather tense and strained. Dinah Laurel wanted to immediately go out and start wiping out what criminals were left that her father couldn't have gotten to in his job, but Dinah Drake was determined that her daughter should lead a safer life. The two argued about it for a couple of years while Dinah Laurel finished school. Shortly after she turned 19, though, she took up her mother's old costume and name and went off to fight crime as the new Black Canary.

Dinah sighed and stared out over Star City, watching as cars drove back and forth, watching as lights flicked on and off, watching as people ran into bars and houses. Everything seemed dull at the time. Few villains bothered with Star City anymore. Lately it was little muggings here and there.
"I suppose Ollie and I have been doing a good job keeping the city safe..." she muttered, pouting a little. She was restless, and the Justice League hadn't needed to call her in for a while. She sat up straight then, hearing something in the nearby alley. She pulled herself back up and walked to another edge of the roof to look down into the alleyway. It seemed a few drunks had just been kicked out of one of the bars, and they were attempting to break into her home.
"Too bad..." she said, jumping from the roof and landing amidst the drunks. "This won't be as fun as I'd like, but at least it's not boring."
"Whuh-?" one of the drunks started. He was scrawny, weak. He took a boot to the face and fell to the ground. Dang those boots hurt.
Another attempted to swing a bottle of some alcohol or another toward Dinah's head, and he took a front-snap kick to the jaw, breaking it. The other two made an attempt to rush the costumed woman from either side, but they found themselves smashing into each other instead.
"Not fun at all..." she whispered, opening the door they'd been attempting to break open. "Terribly stupid... It was unlocked the whole time. I mean... Ollie's home."
