Civilian Identity
James Jesse (Giovanni Giuseppe)
Alias
The Trickster
Gender
Male
Age
23
Occupation
Circus Acrobat
Appearance
Either a picture or a physical description is fine, especially given many of the applications will be for characters we have bouncing around. If the character is a made-up hero or villain, we do ask that their costume and such are given a written description.
Personality
Suave, daring, and dashing, James could almost be described as having a James Bond complex if not for his attraction to childish games and fun. Always thinking twenty steps ahead of everyone else, Jesse can play someone for months─even years─before a plan is put into play. He might be your best friend one moment, and in bed with your wife the next.
Like any man, however, he has his faults. On occasion, his ego or anger may cloud his judgement and he'll find himself at a loss. Loneliness does not seem to be an issue, but he has fallen in love with a handful of women in his life.
He's generally fun-loving and always searching for the next big thrill.
Abilities:
Accomplished Acrobat - Years of living and training in the circus have formed Jesse's body into a lithe, dexterous form. He has a higher than average flexibility and overall physical fitness.
Genius-level Intellect - Both a brilliant con-man and natural inventor, James created a technological marvel, his airwalkers, at a young age. Since then, his inventions have expanded to include a multitude of containable gadgets, various false teeth with a wide array of functions. His suave nature and ability to read people has assisted him in amassing a great fortune, as well as keeping up with most underground activities.
Equipment:
Airwalkers - An innovative design, these blue booties allow the Trickster to literally walk on air. Created to counter his fear of falling, he is rarely seen without this colorful footwear. Since their initial design, James has gone on to apply the technology to other styles of shoes to ensure that he would have access to them at all times.
Bag of Tricks - A handy satchel which holds a variety of comical, dangerous, and potentially lethal gadgets designed from various joke and circus props.
Weaknesses:
Outside of the physical ailments and frailty that all humans have, it is difficult to pinpoint any weakness in the Trickster. Occasionally cocky, but always thinking, it is nearly impossible to best him at games of the mind. He has kept himself emotionally detached from most people for various reasons. Besides, who has time for relationships when there are new schemes to carry out?
Background:
The Trickster was born Giovanni Giuseppe to Italian acrobats. At a young age, his family immigrated to America and joined a circus troupe. There, Giovanni honed his skill and performed with his parents. His failing on the high wire stemmed from a fear of falling which he remedied when he created his infamous airwalkers. Though the crowds were wowed and thoroughly amazed by his aerial feats, he found himself in need of bigger thrills and looked to pick up a criminal career after Jesse James, the bandit which almost shared his stage name.

All nostalgia aside, this was getting boring. The smell of sweat, beer, cash, and chicks just didn't carry the weight on his adult mind as it did in his younger years The hideout hadn't changed either. He was fairly certain there was something growing in the refrigerator that had been leftovers a decade ago. Still, it was nice to take it easy again. No more chasing after set contacts or filing paperwork. The FBI was much less of an adventure and much more of a desk job. Boring, white collar, and droll.
It was almost a relief to be back with the Rogues. If you could even go that far. Years of reform had dampened the relationship with his comrades (and perhaps leaving them naked on a California beach didn't help matters much). The only two he could really relate to on that matter was Piper and Heat Wave. Only problem being that one was broody and the other was unstable. Doesn't make for the best company.
He watched Mardon being pulled out of the room by two terribly excited blondes. Why he paid for sex when he was perfectly capable of getting it with his charm and looks was beyond even James' mind. Though he suspected there was some sort of hidden kink behind paying a woman for company, that was about as far as he dared dive into that subject.
One particularly curvy Asian girl had caught his attention earlier, but he knew better than to mess with these types of, uh─ladies....So he resigned himself to another beer and the evening news. Looks like Cold managed to duck out from the cops again. He had a hunch that a certain reflective villain had something to do with his sudden getaway. He idly wondered if comparing Mirror Master to a getaway driver would throw the Scot into one of his rage-fueled brawls. It might be fun to taunt the man, but causing violence among the Rogues might provoke Piper to do something he might regret. And that guy regretted a lot. Seriously. Chill out once in a while.
All matters of Rogue politics aside, Trickster returned to his beer and the attractive Linda West who was followed by the cameraman's every turn.
