So! I am admittedly chomping at the bit to start putting together the Justice League. No matter how long it is before we actually get down to it, and it could be a month or two, I want to at least start building the foundations, give us something to work towards.
I'm thinking the event that throws them all together should be awhile in coming, and at least part of what happens in this thread should be a matter of preparation; whoever volunteers to be part of the list should meet, in character, at least one other person on that list before we go ahead with it. In part it's a bit of a measuring stick, allowing us to establish the site and the characters for a little while before jumping right into the big plot joys.
As for what happens, was thinking the plot should not only provide our heroes with the League, but also with a suitably advanced base. I'm admittedly torn between orbital station and moon base; essentially, even though our heroes are relatively new to the world, there's plenty of advanced factions and gangs popping up. Any number of them, such as H.I.V.E., could be responsible for such a base, maybe to coordinate their attack on Earth. Once the collection of heroes have beaten back that threat, they decide to take the structure for themselves, similarly coordinating their heroic acts on Earth.
Open to volunteers and suggestions both. Sign up here! n.n

I am, of course, in. I have a slight preference for an orbital base over a moon base, but that could just be me. Having Hawkgirl meet Superman would be simple enough if you're planning on doing that interview with Lois Lane: if she hears talk about another alien superhero, she'd want to fly over and introduce herself.

I actually had an idea about that too... *grins* Another iconic Superman thing that she could be apart of. I'll message you the details. n.n

I'll be playing Batman from scratch, and I think most heroes and villains would be wary of him. Seeing how he's mostly concerned with cleaning up Gotham, he might be regarded as an reserve member.

Aye, very true. In most of the comics I've read with him, he's generally seemed to be more the JLA's consultant than active hero-hugging member. xD He'd pass on information that would help the team pinpoint a crisis, but didn't exactly toddle up to the Watchtower on a regular basis.

I hinted in my app that due to J'onn's space/time traveling, he has some files on important superhumans in the event that he needs their help or in case he has to stop them, and even has a vague awareness of what such a team will achieve in the future. On Smallville, it was implied that J'onn played a hand in getting the League together, and in the god-awful '90s JLA TV pilot, he was the one who brought them together. At the very least, he could be helpful in finding the heroes necessary and helping bring them together. After all, he's always been the heart and soul of the JLA.

Aye, few have spent more time in the Watchtower than him. We're well on our way to getting the numbers we need, but thinking we need at least one more, two if the individual who registered as Wonder Woman changes her mind. Maybe when the Green Lantern movie comes out, we'll have a flood of people clamouring to get in mind as him. xD
Was thinking their first get-together could be in reaction to something bigger than any one of them can handle; again, like some mass villainous invasion laying siege to one of the cities, forcing most of the surrounding heroes to converge to assist. J'onn could definately serve as a bit of a bridge between varying groups? If he interacts with Bruce, and then with Clark, and a few others, he'd probably be the element that helps the two polar opposites mesh together a little easier during the crisis. xD

Well, once Superman debuts. Both Bruce and Batman will be distrustful..well maybe not distrustful but definitely suspicious for sure.
Not quite sure how he'll react to J'onn should he even get it right off the 'bat' that John is a martian?

There was a Batman issue I read recently, can't remember which, but he and Robin are trying to face the Toyman in a giant robot suit. xD Then Superman comes along, rips the thing in two; Robin's bouncing around all shiny-eyed at meeting Supahman, Clark's all 'Well, that's why you're getting the credit for this bust, scout! Take him in!' and Bruce is muttering off in the corner. The relationship between Superman and Batman's always been one of my favorite elements in DC, no matter who's take it is. x3

Mmhmm. Favorite's still Frank Miller's series of graphic novels on the Dark Knight, though, particularly when Batman was the only vigilante still resisting when Lex Luthor and Braniac took over the world from behind the scenes. *rambles on*

Well you've got a Green Lantern.
Maybe talking to Hal about the Lantern Corps and what they do would start Clark and/or others thinking about starting a group?

So, yes, I''m back, I'm back. Funeral, Quebec visit, etc, etc. Doing much better now. Please don't injure me with Kryptonite.
What I had been thinking was that the event shouldn't necessarily be one that threatens the heroes, as much as one that no single, or even pair of heroes can handle. Something widespread, threatening the safety and integrity of the city and its citizens; part of the reason is if there's just one enemy, like Doomsday or some such, it'll make coordinating seven heroes a little more difficult. With some form of larger invasion, everyone gets to smash and bash baddies without getting in someone else's way. That and, let's face it, the coolest Justice League battles are when they're tearing through some poor army of villains. =D While the idea of the Lantern Corps would certainly help serve as an example and inspiration of a more coordinated effort, in the end the biggest driving force should be a demonstration at how effective they are when they pool their abilities.
